When they reviewed this new light at the annual meeting I was so confused how any still in PIMI Jws weren't so bewildered and devastated. Every thing they have taught in the past and are waiting to happen in the future was rooted in type/ anti type nonsense!

i used to enjoy meetings and used to participate but then all of a sudden i was finding myself bored shitless at meetings.
i was taken off the theocratic ministry school for not attending when i was due to give a talk and not long after did something naughty and got disfellowshiped.

I remember sitting at the mid week meeting and the book study was about universal sovereignty- sorry, I don't know what book is was from but all the literature is peppered with this info, so the exact reference not necessary in this case. I was actually having a critical thinking moment and did not agree at all with the reasoning about why human suffering needed to happen and continues to need to happen. Then I realized in that moment the carrot that continues to dangle honest hearted Jws is just not true...

me and my 3 siblings were raised a bit on the strict side.
no sports, outside association, college, mandatory meeting attendance & service routine, etc.

Enjoyed your story! I wish we would have started a family- we stupidly bought into the whole wait to the new system bs when we were in. Isn't it interesting how moving away from family changes your faith? That happened to us.

I guess It was cognitive dissonance at work in me, long before I even knew what that was... I used to meditate on this very subject. I observed Jws that converted as adults having a more intense over the top spirituality. They were jw fanatical. I was a born in and my friends and I struggled with living a "double" life as Jws call it, but now I realize it was just our need and want to be and feel normal. I found the cult like ways of the adult jw converts border-line repulsive. Of course, I have observed many born ins with this same behavior, obviously because of all the meetings aka indoctrination sessions. I realize now how all the brain washing has affected me as well. The doctrines that bother me the most are the ones I believed and did my best to obey, but Others didn't and then these doctrines become null,and void, due to them being ignored but the greater number. When you bring them up, brainwashed Jws actually say, no we were never told that. YES WE WERE- I was there. I am of course talking about the don't have kids in this system doctrine. Just because now a days - last 20 years or so, most are going against this suggestion, doesn't mean I wasn't raised to not be normal and start a family. The GB is well aware that the only growth happening is the kids- the same kids we weren't supposed to have...so all the Dont have kids brainwashing has suddenly stopped🙄🤔

I was there today listening to the cult talk... So according to their info, we are supposed to go to the source to get the correct info when we are looking for the facts. Ok, so what happens when we call or write the branch to ask about the truth and facts about the arc or the lawsuits? Are they going to be honest or transparent? All the news about the lawsuits are just made up? I was about to boil over with disgust and uncontrolled laughter during the cult session today

Waton, I definitely agree these victims more than deserve the money, my point in saying my comment is that as they (my fiends and family) blindly donate to this cult they don't know their money is being used for this. The fairy tale of the spiritual paradise bs is strong with them.
